A fatal crash at Bilpin is believed to have involved a taxi stolen at knifepoint in Lithgow on Tuesday night, August 7.
Just after 10pm police were called to Bells Line of Road, near the intersection with Bilpin School Road, after reports of a crash between a car and a truck.
Police arrived and located the male driver of a taxi deceased. He has not yet been identified.
The truck driver was uninjured.
Investigations suggest the taxi was stolen at knifepoint about 9.40pm the same evening in Lithgow.
Bells Line of Road is closed both directions while inquiries take place and will be closed for several hours.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
