Almost 120 parents, children and members participated in the inaugural family open day at Springwood Bowling Club on Sunday, August 5.
Children as young as four and up to age of 80 enjoyed bowls - many for the first time.
Some of the younger children enjoyed Junior Jack Attack activities while older children played alongside their parents in games of Jack Attack and were often heard to brag that they were better than the oldies.
Families groups became highly competitive, especially those on Rink 2 where a number of games were played to determine the best family grouping.
A small army of club members made the day possible by volunteering their services to mentor the families and without their help the day would not have been possible. The club extends its warm appreciation for their efforts.
The bowling club also extended its thanks to the sports club and to Lotza Signs of Springwood for its sponsorship.
