Commuters experienced delays on the Blue Mountains train line on Sunday, August 19 after strong winds blew a tree onto overhead wires at Springwood.
NSW TrainLink West warned of service delays at 10.35am. “Please allow extra travel time and listen to announcements as platforms may change at short notice,” NSW TrainLink West posted on twitter.
The incident affected the 8.54am Central to Mount Victoria Service, which ended up terminating at Springwood. Passengers had to wait and catch a later west-bound service.
Transport for NSW warned people about delays in both directions at 10.54am.
“Trains in both directions are delayed due to a tree that has fallen on overhead wires. Listen to passenger announcements, check indicator boards and allow extra time,” it posted on the Transport for NSW website.
