The Blue Mountains community has responded to the 2013 bushfire disaster by working to create a wealth of knowledge that can be used throughout the world in response to life-threatening fires.

Mr Fehon said that complacency is a risk that the Blue Mountains just cannot take.

With that in mind, the conference aims to educate and arm everyone with the knowledge they need when living in bushfire prone areas.

Dr. Christopher Dicus, Professor and Coordinator of the Wildland Fire and Fuels Management Program at California Polytechnic State University will be addressing the conference.

Complacency is a risk that the Blue Mountains just cannot take.

With a number of experts attending, attendees will receive the most accurate information on staying safe and managing bushfires.

Mr Fehon aims to use the wealth of knowledge and experience gained through our bushfire disasters to create a centre of excellence regarding bushfire management within the Blue Mountains.
