The Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury and Penrith are showcased in a new co-operative tourism marketing campaign, developed by Destination NSW in partnership with the Regional Strategic Alliance (RSA).
The ‘Wake Up With’ campaign encourages people from the greater Sydney area to visit the region and stay overnight.
RSA chairman, Cr Mark Greenhill, said the campaign shows how the three councils can work together in an innovative and collective way.
“The RSA was formed in 2016 to harness the collective strength, energy and commitment of the region to help build the future of our cities,” he said. “This marketing campaign is a perfect example of this alliance creating a united voice for the region and advocating for the benefit of all three local government areas.”
The ‘Wake Up With’ campaign runs for eight weeks and features the themes of adventure, nature, food and culture.
RSA CEO, Belinda Szafraniec, said: “The campaign offers a refreshed view of experiences within the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury and Penrith. Activities like kayaking, mountain biking, tree top adventures and camping will be showcased in digital media, public relations activity and a partnership with Wotif.
“The campaign also highlights quirky and unique food picking, dining and cultural experiences.”
“We are working closely with the three councils and local tourism operators to promote our dynamic and diverse area and improve the visitor economy.”
