Two Australian golfing greats return to the Blackheath Golf & Community Club on Friday, October 5, to compete in this year's Kresta Legends Pro-Am.
Rodger Davis and Mike Harwood will join over 50 Australian and overseas professionals, competing for $11,000 in prize money in the 18-hole event.
Davis, who finished 2nd to Nick Faldo in the 1987 Open at Muirfield, is also club patron and a regular supporter of our event. He has 30 professional wins around the world, with victories including the British PGA Championship, Volvo Masters and the Bi-Centennial Classic where he defeated American Fred Couples in dramatic fashion.
Mike Harwood was 2nd to Ian Baker-Finch in the 1991 Open at Royal Birkdale. His many victories include The Volvo European PGA, Volvo Masters and the Australian PGA Championship.
Last year’s joint winners, Guy Wall and Alan May, are both returning, with other notables in the field being Terry Price, Glenn Joyner, Craig Warren, Russell Swanson, David Diaz, Noel Ratcliffe, Grant Kenny and David Merriman.
The tournament is part of the PGA Ladbrokes Legends Tour, which sees professionals compete at clubs all around NSW.
The field is broken up into two starting times, 7.30am and then 12.30pm, with the afternoon session seeing most of the top ranked players.
Members and visitors are welcome to play and spectators are most welcome on course with all club facilities available to them. The morning round includes lunch, and the afternoon includes dinner, presentation and the now famous and much loved Rodger Davis speeches.
