The Blackheath & District Horticultural Society’s flower and craft show was a great success last weekend. The community hall was filled with colour and perfume, with daffodils, camellias and spring blossom mixing with natives, flower arrangements and a big effort in the children’s section. Upstairs in the Bates Hall, the skills of the area’s quilt-makers, spinners, weavers, knitters, photographers and home cooks were on display. Bendigo Bank, a sponsor of the show since 2014, kicked in with a cheque for $950. In 2020 the Blackheath & District will celebrate its centenary and is proudly the oldest horticultural society or garden club in NSW.
