A storm left about 8500 Blue Mountains customers without power on Thursday afternoon (October 18).
Endeavour Energy emergency crews were working to safely restore power supply from Linden to Valley Heights after lightning struck powerlines.
Power was restored in Macquarie Road, Springwood about 3pm but other areas were still affected.
The lightning strikes interrupted power supply to homes and businesses in Springwood, Winmalee, Faulconbridge, Valley Heights, Linden, Hawkesbury Heights and Sun Valley.
Affected customers can obtain updates about their own power supplies by:
- calling 131 003 and entering their postcode
- entering their suburb into the power outage application on the website www.endeavourenergy.com.au
- downloading the Endeavour Energy outage app to their smart phone or tablet which is free from iTunes or Google Playstore.
“Endeavour Energy would like to thank customers currently without power for their patience as work is completed to safely restore their supply,” a spokesperson said.
