On Saturday 10 November at 7.30pm Simon Tedeschi will be performing a recital of piano works by Franz Schubert. and will be held at the Blue Mountains Theatre in Springwood. This will the final concert for the Blue Mountain Concert Society's 2018 concert season.
Being the Society's Patron Simon will be familiar to our regular concert audience. He has performed with such luminaries as flautist, Jane Rutter, pianist Kevin Hunt, and violinist Ian Cooper with his ability to move across to most musical genres. However to those, less familiar, he has been described by respected critics and musical peers as “one of the finest artists in the world".
In the 18th century musicians, when performing at salons to a small audience, often would play improvised pieces of music. Composers, such as Schubert, if they thought these pieces had pleased the audience, would later write the composition down and so the impromptu was made available for others to perform. For this concert Simon will play four Schubert Impromptus, Opus 90 and the Schubert Sonata No 18 in G major D894 'Fantasy'.
The Society has prepared another series of six fine concerts for 2019 and details will soon be available.
