A western Sydney support group for male survivors of sex abuse is bringing a special workshop to the Mountains on Saturday.
The workshop is being run by the Survivors And Mates Support Network (SAMSN) for survivors, partners, family and friends. Details can be found on their website: https://www.samsn.org.au/supporters-workshop/.
Presenter Mark Griffiths has had nearly 30 years of experience working with men and women who have been sexually assaulted in their childhood. He has co-facilitated more than 40 groups for men who were sexually abused as children and is SAMSN’s consultant psychologist and chair of SAMSN’s clinical advisory board.
A group spokesman said “SAMSN is committed to supporting men who were sexually abused when they were children or teenagers. As part of this commitment, SAMSN conducts workshops to support the survivors, partners, family members and friends of men recovering from abuse. These workshops are interactive with time to make comments and ask questions.”
The event is at Katoomba Neighbourhood Centre on Saturday November 17. It is free and morning tea and lunch is provided but numbers are restricted. Register by Thursday morning to les@samsn.org.au.
