The third annual Etsy Made Local Blue Mountains market will be held in the heritage gardens of the Norman Lindsay Gallery on Saturday, November 24.
Held on the same day nationally, Etsy Made Local is a market run by sellers who make up the community on Etsy.com.
A dedicated committee of volunteers, the Blue Mountains Makers are passionate about promoting local artisans as well as showcasing time-honoured crafts and traditional methods of making.
“There is such a great number of stalls and variety of wares, all handmade,” said market-goer Leila Weed. “The grounds are so appealing and beautiful and perfect for the type of market that it is.”
More than 50 curated artisan stalls selected from applicants from across the region will take part, with a wide range of products to suit all tastes, as well as a children's colouring competition, fundraiser “destash” craft table to raise money for farmers, workshops and demonstrations.
“I love the growing awareness of supporting local business and appreciating things that are handmade,” said committee secretary Elissa Duffy. “The Etsy Made Local Blue Mountains market really is the epitome of this. I can’t wait to attend again this year.”
With an assortment of food and drink stalls to refresh the crowds, including a Rotary sausage sizzle, market-goers can picnic in the shade and take in the musical offerings from the many buskers that will be entertaining the crowds throughout the day.
The Norman Lindsay Gallery is located at 14 Norman Lindsay Crescent Faulconbridge. The market will be held from 9am-3pm. Free entry into the gardens. Shuttle bus available between Springwood station and Norman Lindsay Gallery at regular intervals throughout the day. $2 each way (under 12s travel for free).
