Councillors have expressed their outrage at proposed state government changes to planning laws around short-term letting.
At this month’s Blue Mountains council meeting concerns were aired about the risk to human life in a bushfire-prone area and over-development.
“This push for over-development is going too far. The community has had enough of it,” mayor Mark Greenhill said. “They want to jam something into every nook and cranny despite living in the most bushfire-prone zone on the planet.”
Councillors endorsed a submission which will be sent to the NSW Department of Planning, with councillors Brendan Christie and Kevin Schreiber voting against.
