With burlesque taking off in popularity all over the country, the Blue Cabaret, recently nominated in the top 10 for the national industry awards, The Busties, presents their third show at 7pm on December 15 at the Blackheath Neighbourhood Centre.
The Blue Cabaret is produced and directed by choreographer and dance teacher Sharyne Jewell. Jewell’s goal is to create high quality, exciting and entertaining shows that also provide opportunities for women and men to continue their dance journeys and fulfill their desire to perform and entertain.
Jewell is passionate about using dance, in particular cabaret and burlesque, to empower people, especially older women, to feel beautiful, sexy and strong regardless of their shape, size, race, age or experience.
She believes, as Marilyn Monroe famously said, “We are all of us stars, and we deserve to twinkle”.
