Council is upgrading security to defend the Springwood Hub against potential attack. It has called for expressions of interest to protect the Hub from “a hostile vehicle attack, with a particular focus on the forecourt area fronting Macquarie Road”. A spokeswoman said there had been no specific threat made against the building. “Rather, council is working to secure its public domain, specifically those that see high number of visitors, such as Echo Point, in line with NSW Government guidelines,” she said.
