Springwood Police Station was in shutdown on Thursday afternoon after a man brought an item into the station containing white powder at 12.40pm.
Acting Inspector Mick Magill said the station was evacuated and a police operation put in place to secure the area.
NSW Fire and Rescue’s Hazmat team were called in. The intersection of Jerseywold Avenue and Ferguson Road was blocked off and Springwood train station carpark shutdown.
Acting Insp Magill expected the area to re-open by 4.30pm.
The white substance will be scientifically examined by police.
