Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced $71 million for 800 extra car spaces at Emu Plains.
The number of parking spaces available for customers at Emu Plains train station will more than double.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian recently announced $71 million will be invested to deliver up to 800 extra commuter car spaces with a new carpark at Emu Plains.

Emu Plains: MP for Penrith Stuart Ayres with Premier Gladys Berejiklian recently making the announcement about the multi-storey car park.

“We will deliver these additional car spaces on top of the 780 already available to customers using Emu Plains train station,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“Once this new commuter car park is complete there will be nearly 1,600 car spaces available for customers around Emu Plains station.
“As a government we are doing all we can to encourage people to use public transport and extra car spaces makes it easier for commuters to do so.”
Member for Penrith Stuart Ayres said the car park extension would address the increasing demand for parking in the area from train customers.
“This is great news for locals who have been a part of the massive growth in patronage on the Sydney Train network over the past few years,” Mr Ayres said.
“We will convert the existing car park to the north of the station to a multi-storey facility with four levels over the ground floor to create 800 new car spaces for my community," Mr Ayres added.
“More spaces makes it easier to access a train at Emu Plains at the time that best suits individual commuters.”
Mr Ayres has not specified a starting date.
“We will do some consultation on the preferred location and then get moving on the construction.”
Since 2011, the government has delivered more car spaces in the local area at Penrith and Glenbrook.
