Local food talent invited to showcase their creations at this year’s Leura Harvest Festival

Showcase your signature kitchen recipes at this year’s Leura Harvest Festival with stallholder expressions of interest now open.

The Leura Village Association aims to expand its stall collection to include a greater representation of local epicureans at the festival on Sunday, May 5.

Leura Village Association president, Piercarlo Cuneo, said the festival had established itself as a major food and sustainability experience and this year organisers aimed to showcase the talents in our local community.

“This is our sixth year of celebrating harvest time in the Blue Mountains and we are now aiming to unearth our local food talent,” said Mr Cuneo.

“We are hoping to attract anyone who loves to cook, from jam makers and bakers, to backyard vegetable growers.”

Mr Cuneo said the festival’s appeal and participation had attracted repeat stallholders, as well as support from the best chefs in the Blue Mountains.

The Leura Harvest Festival features more than 70 stalls of organic produce and products, micro-farming information, solar-powered vehicles, herbs and spices, apple ciders and local wines, to repurposed clothing, art, homewares, and organic beauty products.

Food events at The Leura Harvest Festival include the Great Australian Chocolate Cake Competition and the Chef’s Kitchen by Plate Up where visitors can enjoy signature restaurant dishes from across the Blue Mountains.
