Blue Mountains Council recently celebrated the community’s older people at the annual Seniors Week Recognition Awards.
Held in the last week of the NSW Seniors Festival, the ceremony took place at the Blue Mountains Hub at Springwood.
Thirty seven people were honoured, along with three organisations, for their outstanding contribution to the community and for making the Mountains a richer and more connected place to live.
Blue Mountains Mayor, Cr Mark Greenhill, said: “The Seniors Festival and our annual Seniors Week Recognition Awards provide an opportunity to promote a better understanding about seniors and the value they add to our lives.”
