Greater Western Sydney Giants players were on hand at Summerhayes Park on Thursday, as students from seven Blue Mountains schools took part in a round robin AFL competition.
The year 5 and 6 students were excited to meet some of their AFL heroes and obtain their signatures.
The players also offered plenty of tips for the budding footballers.
"We told them to get it forward, get it on the boot," said midfielder Aiden Bonar.
"Focus on your man and don't let them get a kick," was the advice from forward Brent Daniels. "It's good to get out here and see a bit more of Sydney."
The students from Winmalee, Faulconbridge, Ellison, Springwood, Blaxland East and Mt Riverview public schools and St Thomas Aquinas Primary were taking part in the Paul Kelly Cup. The winners will progress to the regional cup to be held in Blacktown.
