Blue Mountains dancer Hannah Russell is home from New York City and offering local dancers the chance to work closely with her in her new dance and goals workshops.
After positive feedback from January workshops, Ms Russell will be offering two workshops at Dance on Pointe in Blaxland in the April school holidays. Dance and Goals is inspired by Ms Russell's experiences, challenges and achievements as a professional dancer, performer and teacher internationally and in Australia. The workshops are also influenced by international artists she has worked and trained with who have experienced challenge and take responsibility for finding their success.
Ms Russell is passionate about educating dancers at professional, competitive and recreational level.
Christelle Boi, 15, attended the January workshop .
"I am really glad I went because I actually feel more confident in myself, not just in dance but at school and life in general," she said. "It has helped me get on track with my goal setting and planning, something I wasn't too sure about before."
The teen workshop, for 13-year-olds and over, runs over two weeks. Teens will learn how to set goals that address their values and apply this to their dance training. The workshop for pre-teens, 10-12 years, will cover the basics of goal setting within a more interactive class. Other topics covered include time management, finding opportunity through challenge and the habits and characteristics of a fruitful and inspiring dancer. Both workshops will be followed by a jazz class. The teens workshop is on Wednesday, April 17 and Wednesday, April 24 from 6-8,30pm. Pre-teens on April 23 from 6-8.30pm at Dance on Pointe in Blaxland. For more details at www.hannahrussell.com.au or search for Dance and Goals Workshops on Eventbrite.
