Katoomba-based artist Victor Peralta will be the judge for the 2019 Blackheath Art Society's Easter Members Exhibition.
Peralta is also the curator, part-owner and director at Gallery ONE88 Fine Arts Katoomba. His works hang in many private collections in Australia and internationally. His inspiration comes from the old and modern masters such as Rembrandt and John Singer Sargent.
In 2009, Peralta entered the Amnesty International Art competition and was awarded the winning prize. In 2010 his Archibald entry, the portrait of Michael Smith, editor of Drum Media won first prize in The Real Refuses exhibition at the TAP Gallery Darlinghurst.
In 2011, Peralta's entry into the Archibald was a portrait of controversial media personality, and now Senator, Derryn Hinch and in 2012, Peralta selected Alan Finney, chairman of the Australian Film Industry and recipient of the Order of Australia Medal.
The exhibition opens at 10am on Friday, April 19. Prize giving will be on Saturday, April 20, at 2pm. It closes on Monday, April 21, at 4pm.
