An American tourist had a scary introduction to Australian wildlife, after being bitten by a snake in the Megalong Valley.
The woman was on a bushwalk on April 9, and emergency services were called.
She was airlifted to Westmead Hospital for treatment.
It's understood it was a dry bite, probably from an eastern brown snake.
Pursuit
Police were patrolling in Blaxland at 5am on April 13 when they saw a car being driven along Murphy St, which had been stolen from Hazelbrook a week earlier.
"Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver sped off and a high-speed pursuit commenced through the back streets to Sun Valley and then onto the Great Western Highway," said Blue Mountains Police Acting Superintendent Scott McAlpine.
The pursuit was called off due to the manner of driving and the danger to the community.
The grey Mazda 6 sedan with NSW registration plates ASQ-28C. was last seen travelling westbound in the eastbound lanes of the highway at Valley Heights. Police have urged anyone with information on the whereabouts of the car to contact Springwood Police on 4751 0299 and quote reference number E70811246.
Leura rescue
A man, 29, was rescued near Leura Cascades on April 9 after falling from the track.
About 3.45pm, other walkers heard his calls for help and contacted emergency services. He was stabilised by paramedics, before police and firefighters carried him to a waiting helicopter to be taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
Candidate crash
Liberal candidate for Macquarie Sarah Richards has been left feeling "sore and quite bruised" following a weekend crash that has badly damaged her campaign car.
Ms Richards confirmed the incident on social media, which occurred in Richmond on April 14.
Pictures showed the front of the blue Suzuki Swift badly damaged, with the bonnet bent almost in half, extensive damage to the front bumper, and airbags clearly visible.
Ms Richards said everyone involved had been treated and fortunately no one had suffered any serious injuries in the incident.
"Thank you so much for all the kind messages," she told followers on her Facebook page. "I am very sore and quite bruised but otherwise OK and I promise to be back on my feet soon."

A Lethbridge Park teenager has been charged after marking a bus stop with graffiti outside Winmalee Shopping Complex on March 31. He appears in Parramatta Children's Court on May 29.
Theft from pool
A Springwood man has been charged with stealing a purse from a person swimming at Glenbrook Pool on March 29.
The purse contained a number of bank cards, which the man, aged 41, used to buy various items at shops in Lapstone, Blaxland and Springwood.
He was charged with a number of offences including stealing and dishonestly obtain property by deception. He was to appear at Penrith Local Court on April 16.
