The first season of the Art of Lunch starts on Sunday, May 26 and every last Sunday of the month until October.
The event will take place simultaneously at several restaurants and galleries within the Greater Blue Mountains region, with each venue offering a different theme, exhibition and performance.
Art of Lunch guests will enjoy a menu specially designed by a chef, a visual art display opened by the artist and a 30-minute live concert.
The dining experiences include:
- Echoes Restaurant's Blue Mountains Bohemia. An immersive experience featuring the art of Norman Lindsay and an actress appearing as his model/wife Rose, alternating performances by Erica Want and Catherine Lockley. Jazz giants James Greening and Kevin Hunt appear in concert bringing some 1940s influences to the menu. Head chef, Saran Sasikumar, has created an exotic menu including a mysterious Magic Pudding.
- The Avalon in Katoomba will host a lively Indigenous launch event with Big Dreams, an exhibition by leading Darug artist Shane Smithers, music by songman Uncle Pete, and an exciting menu of uniquely Australian bush flavours, presented by hosts Dylan Brookes, David Cartwright and their culinary team.
One88, Wild Valley Art Park and Lithgow's Gang Gang gallery are also participating. Go to www.artoflunch.com.au. Early bird specials available online.
