Blackheath's BP service station is set for a makeover, with plans for a $1.8 million complete demolition and rebuild now before council.
The plan calls for the old servo and adjoining car repair workshop to be pulled down and a new, modern service station to be built.
It will have six petrol bowsers under cover. There will also be a Balmain Coffee Company outlet on site.
It is proposed to be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Current car access from Hydora Lane will be closed but there will be entries from both the highway and Gardiner Crescent. The only exit will be on to the highway.
While two trees will be removed (one near Hydora Lane and one the southern boundary), the line of trees between the site and Gardners Inn next door will be retained.
The DA is on public exhibition until June 12.
