Sydney Water's annual community grants are now open but would-be applicants only have until Friday to apply.
The grants are awarded each year in a number of categories: Arts and heritage, safety, health and wellbeing, and education.
A number of Mountains organisations were successful last year, including Toolo (money to repair items for disadvantaged and isolated members of the community), Katoomba Leura Preschool (to upgrade its vegie gardens to be water wise), The Big Fix (towards its youth permaculture social enterprise design course), Winmalee Community Preschool (for a water tank and reticulation system) and Blue Mountains Food Services (for a program to provide the opportunity for young people with disabilities to learn cooking and hospitality skills).
