People and places: 10th anniversary of the Blackheath Heathens Choir

The Blackheath Heathens Choir began in the back room at BANC in 2009. As people heard about it, the choir outgrew that room and moved to the hall, where they still rehearse every Wednesday. The choir is well-known in the Mountains and regularly performs at community events.

On June 5 current members were joined by several original members at a 10th birthday celebration at the Blackheath Rhododendron Gardens. The much loved choir leader Christine Wheeler cut the cake and each part of the choir and special groups entertained. Proving they are multi-talented musicians. We also celebrated the birthday of our oldest member, Harry Douglas, who turned 92.
