Sinclair Ford celebrates 50 years at the foot of the Blue Mountains this year.
The car dealership was started by Penrith businessman Ross Sinclair in November 1969 in Penrith's High Street then moved to Mulgoa Road in 1985, and finally Great Western Highway, Kingswood in 2010.
These days the business, now known as Sinclair Automotive, isn't just confined to Fords. They also sell Isuzu Ute, Peugeot, Citroen and SsangYong.
Dealer principal John Cooper said Sinclair Automotive employed 110 staff, with their roles ranging from sales to finance and insurance, service, parts, warehousing and more.
"We sell new and used motor vehicles and service all types of vehicles, as well as supply and distribute spare parts and accessories and offer finance packages," Mr Cooper said.
He said the motor industry was always changing and facing new challenges as manufacturers move through vehicle cycles.
"A huge change to the industry is the ever-evolving internet and how customers shop for vehicles," Mr Cooper said.
But the strength of Sinclair Automotive was that they had always focused on their local community.

The dealership is also the longest consecutive running sponsor of the Penrith Panthers, with this year marking the 49th that Sinclair Automotive has stood proudly behind the local NRL team.
"When Ross Sinclair started the business here he saw it as a great opportunity for the local community," Mr Cooper said.
"All these years later Penrith and the Blue Mountains still has a strong community vibe and our involvement in that has been appreciated.
"We have a very good reputation and we stand by our customers and strive to ensure they always get the best possible experience."
Mr Cooper said of the 110 staff almost a third of them have worked with the dealership for at least 15 years.
