Following the success of the Blue Mountains Makers Artisan Market in August 2018 and March 2019, Blue Mountains Makers Inc are pleased to announce the return of this wonderfully curated local artisan market to the Hub on Saturday, August 31.
This time around, in addition to showcasing 40 high quality, locally designed and handmade stalls, along with live music, the market will also host three workshops by local facilitators.
Ever wanted to learn how to play the ukulele? Well now you can in an interactive workshop with local musician Tom Harding. For the musically challenged, Harding will also be on hand to show you how to make your own T-shirt bag, which you can take home on the day.
Meanwhile, Artclub Kids will be providing children with the opportunity to create their very own personalised pet portrait in watercolour paints. Places are limited, so attendees are encouraged to book online in advance.
Whether you are wanting to attend a workshop or looking for a unique piece for your home, a loved one or yourself, you are sure to find something that piques your interest, or at the very least, it will provide the perfect opportunity to spend your Saturday wandering around your local artisan market.
The Blue Mountains Makers Inc was established three years ago by a small group of local creatives who operate on a volunteer basis. Their aim was to build a supportive and friendly community for their members, to run events, share ideas and enjoy social get-togethers for like-minded people.
The committee members are happy to have achieved their goal to organise a new artisan market at the Blue Mountains Theatre and Community Hub. Springwood has many eateries nearby so visitors can pick up a bite and sit in the sunny courtyard, listen to buskers and peruse the stalls. A curated selection of homewares, clothing, beauty products, children's toys, fashion accessories, artworks and illustrations will be on offer, as well as a coffee cart to keep you warm as you stroll around.
There's no better way to strengthen your community than to shop locally. Open from 9am-2pm. Blue Mountains Theatre and Community Hub 106-108 Macquarie Road, Springwood.
