The new Katoomba RSL was officially opened last Saturday by the club president, Brian Turner. The war memorial was consecrated by Ray Robinson from St Hilda's.
Children from St Canice's, Katoomba and Katoomba North public schools entertained with a number of songs, and there were speeches from the club's CEO, Nick Darias, the acting president of RSL NSW, Ray James, and the mayor, Mark Greenhill.
Ninety-three year old WWII veteran, Geoffrey Medcalf, from Wentworth Falls, cut the ribbon.
