Faulconbridge Antiques is celebrating the arrival of a range of exclusive designs from Moorcroft Art Pottery.
Co-owners Kevin and Garry Austin said this was the first time in nearly 15 years that an Australian Moorcroft retailer had commissioned their own exclusive designs from the world-renowned company based in Stoke-on-Trent England.
The Gang Gang cockatoo and an iconic rhododendron image have been immortalised in a range of limited edition pieces.
Kevin Austin said Australia's most charismatic bird was now to be part of the Moorcroft story and sure to be treasured by lovers of art pottery all over the world for many years to come.
"Painstakingly outlined in three different panelled images in liquid clay, the artwork is hand painted on the prestigious Moorcroft shape under the skilled direction of designer Kerry Goodwin," he said.
"Kerry has designed the pair of male and female Gang Gang cockatoos with the flair and flamboyance of Camilla Franks as they perch proudly on Golden Wattle with heads tucked in tightly together, perusing the world in a vibrant cacophony of Moorcroft glazes.
"In much the same way as the Camilla Franks label has captured the colours of the Australian beach lifestyle and turned them into garments, so has Kerry's design captured the spirit of Australia, which incidentally, was the name of the collection featured in Moorcroft's last publicised tour here."

As well as securing the highly collectable Gang Gangs, Faulconbridge Antiques have ensured that the 50th birthday celebrations of the gardens of Bacchante Street, Blackheath are set in clay with their Blackheath rhododendron design.
The Campbell Rhododendron Gardens were created in 1970 on 18.5 hectares of Australian bushland and are managed and maintained by the volunteers of the Blue Mountains Rhododendron Society of NSW.
In recognition of this the owners of Faulconbridge Antiques presented Blue Mountains Rhododendron Society president Deborah Wells with a $500 donation when the design was unveiled for the first time recently.
"Moorcroft designer Emma Bossons weaves a soft, fairy-floss pink rhododendron from the gardens on the highly collectable Moorcroft ginger jar shape, vase and lamp shade, lifting the pale-pink blooms in a graceful ascension," Garry Austin said.
