Hundreds of people braved the wild and windy weather on Saturday, September 7 to attend the bushfire building community day at the Blue Mountains Theatre and Community Hub in Springwood
Attendees got up-to-speed with the latest information, tips and advice from the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) and other bushfire professionals on how to prepare their home for the bushfire season. They also learnt how to build or renovate to BAL (Bushfire Attack Level) requirements.
Attendees had a rare opportunity to hear and ask questions from the NSW RFS, architects, builders and other industry experts during an engaging community forum.
Crowds were also kept busy visiting more than 30 industry exhibitors at an expo including bushfire consultants, bushfire rated building materials providers, and many more.
Kids were kept entertained with Build-A-Mind activities, an adventure playground and RFS demonstrations.
