The Cancer Wellness Support op shop in Katoomba is about to start Sunday trading.
From September 29, the op shop at 27 Whitton St will be open from 10am-2pm.
CWS op shops, located at Katoomba and Penrith, provide the majority of funds for the subsidised therapies available to CWS members living with cancer, and their families.
Generously supported by local communities with donations and volunteers, the Katoomba op shop aims to provide customers with a happy shopping experience, including great music and friendly staff and volunteers.
Donations come from a range of sources, from small and large individual contributions to a variety of business donations of recycled fixtures and fittings.
Loads of clothing, furniture, books and bric-a-brac are available all year round with seasonal sales to clear clothing stock at ridiculously low prices. Every day there is the opportunity to discover something new and bag a bargain.
Katoomba op shop manager Merilyn Brown said: "Many of our regular shoppers pop in multiple times a week, some even daily, and are often amazed to always find something new or different.
"Keeping the prices low delivers a high turnover of goods, which in turn constantly delivers an interesting and fun-filled shopping experience for our customers."
Known in the Blue Mountains community for being a genuine "opportunity" shop, people now have the opportunity to buy recycled goods seven days per week.
Community involvement is an essential characteristic of CWS including therapists, fundraisers, supporters, volunteers and, critically, op shop donors and shoppers.
With the community working together anything is possible and all money raised through op shop sales directly improves the lives of those living with cancer throughout the Blue Mountains region.
Shopping at the op shops is fun and you can find some great bargains, Ms Brown said.
