Well-known Leura cyclist Bob Montgomery is off again on another national ride, this time from Leura to Melbourne.
He starts his journey on Sunday, September 22 on the 1000 kilometre, 10-day ride.
Field support crew member, Bill Pixton from Upper Blue Mountains Rotary, said this ride was a "bit different to his other adventures".
"Riding with him is his 11-year-old grandson Tom Malcolm. They will visit, wherever possible, Rotary clubs on the way. His wife Jenny will also be the field support person and I will go for a few days as well," Mr Pixton added.
The 75-year-old grandfather and his grandson duo hope to raise $50,000 for Huntington's NSW ACT and have secured corporate sponsors.
He will take part in the Huntingtons NSW ACT annual Walk4Hope fundraiser on September 22 at Parramatta Park and then leave from Leura the following morning heading west to Bathurst, then south to Cowra, Wagga Wagga, Albury and down to Melbourne, Mr Pixton added.
