Mayfield Garden's Spring Festival will take place this year from Sunday, October 6, to Sunday, October 27.
The 50-hectare Hawkins private family garden will be open for the duration of the festival in line with the family's commitment to open its private garden four times a year for seasonal festivals.
Spring is one of the more spectacular and popular times to visit Mayfield Garden.
Apart from experiencing the extraordinary blooms and colours, visitors also get to enjoy one of Australia's largest English box hedge mazes, the Mayfield amphitheatre, the family chapel and rowing on the Mayfield Lake.
Mayfield's manager, marketing and events, Amy Hotham, said there were two new features being added to this year's festival.
"For the very first time we are allowing picnics at Mayfield Garden," she said.
"We will have a dedicated section of the garden near the obelisk that will not only host picnics but it will also be the focal point for entertainment on weekends.
"Visitors can pre-order a picnic hamper which will be prepared by our renowned paddock-to-plate café.
"Another key addition to this year's festival is the extension of trading hours," Ms Hotham said.
The garden will be open during the festival from 9am-5.30pm, with no entry after 4pm.
Visitors looking for a truly immersive experience during the Spring Festival can also spend the night glamping in one of 15 luxury tents established in the garden grounds.
Mayfield is Australia's largest privately-owned, cool climate garden.
It is a living legacy of the Hawkins family who took their inspiration from the best gardens in Europe.
Beautiful in every season, 15 hectares of Mayfield Garden are open 363 days.
The many pathways are designed to be explored, with many nooks-and-crannies to discover and the mobility-friendly camellia walk that provides access from the lower to the upper sections of the garden for those with mobility aids or prams.
Enjoy breakfast, lunch or a snack in Mayfield Café, where much of the produce is grown on-site.
Located 15 minutes from Oberon, the 75-hectare garden is only a 75-minute drive from Katoomba.
