A Blue Eco Homes environmentally sustainable home has drawn acclaim from judges at a building association awards night on October 19.
The Winmalee company won the Housing Industry Association NSW small professional builder/renovator, partnered by HIA Insurance Services, and the HIA NSW custom built home $1 million to $2 million, partnered by Smeg Australia, for their Glenbrook project.
Judges said, "The Blue Eco home was fabulous. This home truly demonstrates 'quality over quantity'. The clients' health and wellbeing needs were the key considerations in all aspects of this home. A well-considered design, combined with the builder willing to go the extra mile, resulting in a beautiful building which is environmentally sustainable".
They added: "Blue Eco Homes are a holistic environmentally sustainable business, resulting in ecological building outcomes. The company is praised by the judges for developing a new strategy to provide affordable options for sustainable homes, implementing good policies for growth and understanding their market."
Congratulating Blue Eco Homes on their achievement, HIA executive director NSW, David Bare, said: "The awards recognise excellence in residential construction and these awards provide a tremendous opportunity for HIA members to showcase their projects and highlight building and design excellence.
"Congratulations to all this year's winners and finalists for outstanding achievements in workmanship, innovation and design. The winners of major categories can look forward to progressing to HIA's national awards next year and I wish them every success," he said.
"This year's awards were a tremendous display of the housing industry's capacity, innovation and resilience in a challenging NSW residential market."
The Housing Industry Association is the peak industry association for the Australian residential building sector, supporting builders, contractors, manufacturers, suppliers, building professionals and business partners.
