Take the road less travelled and explore the other Blue Mountains along the Bells Line of Road, now accessible via affordable public transport for the first time.
The new Botanica Touring shuttle service between Katoomba and Richmond makes seasonal fruit picking, cellar doors and dining along the historic road available for visitors without their own transport.
Owner Peter Wright said the 57-seat coach also gives passengers a lofty vantage point from which to see the stunning landscape.
"The Bells Line of Road gives a fresh perspective to the Blue Mountains, with different scenery, plant species and attractions, and I am excited and privileged to introduce this incredible landscape to visitors who haven't been able to access it until now," he said.
The twice-daily air-conditioned coach service stops at numerous locations including Echo Point and the Carrington Hotel in Katoomba, the Hydro Majestic Hotel, Blue Mountains Botanic Garden at Mt Tomah, Hillbilly Cider Shed and seasonal orchards at Bilpin and the historic villages of Kurrajong, Kurmond and Richmond.
The service runs from Katoomba at 9.30am and 1.50pm and Richmond at 11.40am and 4.10pm Thursday to Monday. Tickets: $39-$59 adults, $25-$39 children. See botanicatouring.com.
There is also a special promo code for Blue Mountains residents. 'BMLocal' will give anyone in the Mountains and Hawkesbury area 20 per cent off any tour or transfer ticket. They just need to enter this code when prompted during the booking process.
