Rhythm Hunters are back in their biggest show of the past years, with the return of Rhythm Underground at Jenolan Caves. With a brand new album being released, this is the biggest and best album launch party they could imagine.
Rhythm Hunters have held seven concerts in the arch and the event has seen 4000+ people to witness Frenetic Shamanic Dance, Japanese shakuhachi flute master Riley Lee, thunderous Japanese drums, traditional music from Indonesia, electronic beats, drum and didge with Wild Marmalade and, of course, the enigmatic percussion master Nicky Bomba.
It's like an organic dance party in the largest underground caves systems in the world.
Rhythm Hunters are a dynamite force in world roots music, adored for their frenetic drum choreographies and infectious dance grooves. They bring cutting edge physical percussion, western horns, Asian flute, deep grooves and electro beats, making them one of Australia's most exciting live festival acts.
This ground breaking album, It's Always the Same ... Till it's Different, brings together 10 years of the raw, love infused contemporary tribal sounds. The sound, heavily informed by Indonesian music, comes together in a way that honours the roots, yet also launches forward into a new world of no boundaries, where cultures blend and become one. This is not traditional music, nor a reflection of current musical trends. All the tracks are present tense in the moment, evolving musical artworks.
Acknowledged for the ability to play to a wide variety of audiences, Rhythm Hunters have evolved to become a sought-after festival act appealing highly to rhythm, dance and percussion enthusiasts.
This new album was recorded by Melbourne engineer Robin Mai and produced by legendary producer, musician and percussionist Nicky Bomba. Immersed in nature in country Victoria, the band enjoyed family living whilst working together in the studio. This resulted in music that is brave, colourful and joyous.
With special guests Nicky Bomba and Si Mullumby on Saturday, November 23 from 8pm at Jenolan Caves (Grand Arch). Please note, the road in closes at 7pm. See www.fusionboutique.com.au.
