A two-storey Hazelbrook home has been destroyed by fire on November 8.
Fire and Rescue NSW Blue Mountains Duty Commander Acting Inspector, Ian Stubbs, said fire crews had been monitoring bushland on the eastern side of the home and protecting the bush from ember attack.
He said no bushland or other homes were under threat.
"There was a good open area around the home," he said.
"We're wetting everything down and covering it with foam."
The brick home in Heron Place was completely destroyed. No-one was home at the time.
Acting Insp Stubbs said fire crews donned breathing apparatus to fight the fire, and police and ambulance officers were still on scene.
"Investigations will be continuing for some time this afternoon," he said.
