We must be dreaming...
Thanks to the Blue Mountains community, Greystanes Disability Services' The Castle trivia night raised just over $5500.
On Friday, November 8, at the Blackheath Golf and Community Club, Greystanes held a trivia night to fundraise for solar panels and battery for their new group home in Woodford. Installation of solar power will reduce energy costs and enable us to have power when there are power outages. This will help decrease anxiety levels caused by blackouts.
We were very honoured that Tiriel Mora aka Dennis Denuto from the classic Australian comedy movie The Castle volunteered his time to be the MC on the night. Our Trivia Masters were Pixie Willo and David Garry, who are one of our many thespian employees at Greystanes.
Tiriel had many fans on the night and there were a few protests regarding questions. The general feel was one of fun. We had a silent auction prize of a Sponge Cake that made $500 on the night. We are still in the process of seeing if this a world record for the highest bid on Trivia Night for cake. Tiriel auctioned himself to play a golf game at Blackheath Golf & Community Club with the highest bidder. A very excited team member from "Son of Coco" won this bid.
Da-Mell Air Conditioning and Heating were our Event Sponsors and Sunkissed Solar were our Community Supporter sponsor. Blackheath Golf & Community Club donated their clubhouse for the event. We would like to thank the following Blue Mountain businesses for donating great prizes: Blackheath Golf Club Pro-shop, Blue Mountains Chocolate Company, Blue Mountains Embroiders Guild, Blue Mountains Events Hire, Dextralog Computers, Hope Tree Framing, Jane Adams, John Eva, Leura Butchery, Mitre 10 Katoomba, Mountain Culture Brewery Company, Terry White Pharmacy Wentworth Falls, The Mortimer Family, Todarellos Katoomba, Trish Doyle MP, Rozi and Allison Starkey and Scenic World.
