Anala Art Advisory at Glenbrook welcomes emerging artist, Darren White, with his inaugural solo show, Big Road. Small Town., opening on Saturday, November 23, 1-4pm.
Born and raised in a small coastal town in New Zealand, White has always felt a strong connection to the sea. Now living in Noosa, his love for the ocean continues through surfing and daily observations of the coastline.
Working purely from memory in the studio, without photographs or sketches, White harnesses the editing process of recollection. The final paintings are completed in muted tones and simplified forms, providing peaceful reflections on our shared experiences of beach holidays, summer road trips and simpler times.
"Big Road. Small Town. aims to remind us all to slow down and just remember - without photos and without technology - allowing our memories to be free to fill the scene, whether right or wrong, but nonetheless as we remember it, said White.
Contact Michael Powe on 0452 586 448 or info@analaartadvisory.com.au for a full catalogue to secure your preferred painting prior to opening day. Anala is at 6 Ross St, Glenbrook.
