Phil Davidson comes 'Out of the Dark'

Blue Mountains singer/songwriter Phil Davidson will be holding a preview of his new album, Out of the Dark, in his hometown of Springwood on Saturday, December 7

His most honest and personal album to date Out Of The Dark chronicles Davidson's recent journey with cancer. The album was recorded in Nashville earlier this year and features world famous musicians including the fabulous Grammy winner Bonnie Bishop and legendary pedal steel player for Linda Ronstadt and James Taylor, Dan Dugmore.

"The album is full of songs that dig deep into pain as well as hope as I ask myself the big questions of life. I'll be playing and telling stories of the inspiration and journey of the album, which will be released in this week," said Davidson.

He has been performing both locally, around Australia and internationally for 30 years, writing for film, theatre and charity. His song, Love That Matters, written to raise money for the Blue Mountains Fire Appeal, reached number 1 on the Australian Country charts in 2013.

ABC 702 Drive Show host, Richard Glover first discovered Davidson in 2006 and his subsequent rendition of Belfast Boy on Glover's show proved a massive hit amongst ABC listeners, resulting in Davidson being signed to ABC/Universal Music and the launch of his full-time music career.

Phil Davidson is a songwriter and performer of the highest calibre. His songs are known for their wonderful turn of phrase, self-effacing humour and their strong Celtic melodies - no surprise due to Davidson being originally from Ireland.

The album preview will be held on Saturday, December 7 at Springwood Presbyterian Church, Macquarie Road, Springwood. Doors open at 6.30pm. Tickets $15 each. Bookings at or at the door. For more info go to or Facebook @ phildavidsonmusician.
