Two men have been critically injured after a double shooting in Blackheath this morning (Friday, December 13).
The men were rushed to Westmead Hospital after emergency services were called to a home on Connaught Road, just before 4.30am following reports of possible shots fired.
Officers from Blue Mountains Police Area Command attended and found two men, aged 25 and 31, suffering gunshot wounds.
The younger man was treated for a wound to his lower back and the older man for a wound to his torso.
Both men were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a critical condition.
A crime scene remains in place while investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Police are looking for two males who attended the home and were seen fleeing following the altercation with the two injured men.
Initial inquiries suggest the shooting may have been targeted, police said.
