Big crowds turned out in Springwood on Thursday, December 12 to celebrate the town's annual late night Christmas shopping event.
In its sixth year, the evening has become a popular item in the Blue Mountains calendar and is organised by the Springwood and District Chamber of Commerce with the assistance of the Rotary Club of Springwood and the support of Blue Mountains City Council.
Talented local singers, school children and buskers performed along Macquarie Road, in the Town Square and in front of the Presbyterian Church. Rural Fire Service, SES, and NSW Fire & Rescue personnel also took part in the event.
The Springwood Chamber has more than 70 local members who work in retail, services and not-for-profit businesses. The business precinct offers great dining from cafes and restaurants to pubs and clubs, bookshops, hair and beauty salons, clothing and shoe shops, butcher, bakers, gift shops, mechanics, real estate agents, solicitors, vets, medical, general health care and education professionals.
