Adelaide United captain Michael Jakobsen says he's comfortable with the Reds' depth and isn't looking towards the January transfer window, despite injuries hitting the A-League club's attacking stocks.
Riley McGree is building towards a return from a knee injury while striker Kristian Opseth (adductor) is also on the comeback trail, but coach Gertjan Verbeek will be loath to rush the pair back, meaning Adelaide could be depleted against Central Coast Mariners this week.
Jakobsen said he was uncertain whether McGree, who scored six goals in seven games before he and Opseth both missed the clash with Newcastle, would return this week or next.
"I don't know how far along in their rehab they are but hopefully we'll get them back in soon," Jakobsen said on Monday.
"It's always a big boost when you have injured players coming back in and the more fit players we have, the stronger the squad is, so we want them back as quick as possible, but I know they don't want to take any risks so they get further damage."
Despite the injuries, Jakobsen wasn't looking towards the January transfer window.
"I'm happy with the squad we have now," Jakobsen said.
"We're doing well and we're winning games, so I'm really happy and I think there is good depth as well when everybody's fit."
The Reds' squad depth has benefited from their faith in youth, with attacking revelation Al Hassan Toure and midfielder Louis D'Arrigo cementing their spots.
"We've seen Toure, we've seen Louis this year, they've done amazing," Jakobsen said.
"They've really grabbed their chance."
