Central Blue Mountains Rotary and The Salvation Army are working in shifts each day to pack lunches for volunteer members of the Rural Fire Service.
At the bushfire control centre in Katoomba, sandwiches, two pieces of fruit, cake, a fruit drink and a chocolate bar are packed into sealable plastic bags and placed in an esky with frozen bottles of water before being shipped to the fire fronts.
Sandwiches, fruit and cold drinks are delivered to the bushfire control centre daily and the volunteer packing crews go to work under the guidance of the RFS.
More than 300 food packs are delivered each day to RFS volunteers.
