A determined Katoomba brother and sister duo have been making all the right moves in their chosen field of football.
Isabella Preston is only 12, but recently she represented NSW Country U13 Girls Futsal Team at the National Titles in Canberra.
She follows hot on the heels of her brother Reece, 17, who has been playing for several years at a top country representative level,with two years at state titles for Western NSW. He is now taking a break to concentrate on HSC studies for 2020.
Isabella is a 2020 country player for FFA National Futsal Championships. She currently trains for Nepean Girls U14 NPL2 three times a week. Last year she was the Nepean Football Club's WNPL2 u14s player and was also awarded the 2019 Lithgow District representative player's player award after playing in the Lithgow U12 Representative team.
"An opportunity to play for Nepean WNPL2 U14 came about and she was selected to play the remainder of the season," her Dad Russell explained.
Isabella was selected to play for Western NSW U12 girls team at the state titles. She was then chosen for the Western NSW Girls Talented Player Scheme.
She recently trialled for an U14 Girls Country Team to compete in the Australian U14 Championships.
When not playing indoor our outdoor soccer she manages a sideline gig at St Canice's School Katoomba where she has been cross country champion for five years running.
For the past three years Reece has been chosen as a NSW country player for the FFA National Futsal Championships. He plays in the Hawkesbury City FC.
