It is a performing art that appeals to a great many people

Whether your child dreams of being a prima ballerina - or just loves to dance - Rosatutu Studios at Faulconbridge has a class to suit their needs.

Principal and director Rosalind Dorman says they offer movement and music classes, based on classical ballet as well as classical ballet, jazz and contemporary styles for all ages.

"All classes are divided into appropriate age groups and levels," Ms Dorman said.

"With classical ballet classes we work through the wonderfully designed Cecchetti Ballet Australia syllabus, which is a world renowned teaching method."

Both boys and girls are accepted from the age of three with jazz students from seven and contemporary students from the age of 10.

Ms Dorman says a grounding in classical ballet helps the students when they take up and master other dance styles.

There are also adult classes for beginners as well as those who are more advanced.

Rosatutu Studios opened in 1991 at the Christ Church hall on the Great Western Highway and moved up the road to the current space in 2103. Jazz classes have always been held at Ellison School.

"Dance is a great combination of movement, music, friendship, exercise and challenge," Ms Dorman said. "There is something for everyone. It is a performing art that appeals to a great many people of all ages."

Ms Dorman said classes were tailored for age and level of ability.

"The emphasis for the little ones is creating movement using imagination and music while older students follow our teachers' careful instructions to master their dance steps and movements whether they be in ballet, jazz or contemporary styles," she said.

"Each class follows a pattern to warm up the student's limbs and bodies then establish correct technique essential in the mastery of the dance style.

"Often there is also free movement at the end of classes to allow student's creative choreography and imagination to soar.

"Everyone is welcome, whether a beginner or returning to dance if they have had a break.

"Care is taken by our dedicated teachers to tailor their instruction to encourage all students to reach their potential."

Rosatutu Studios is at 2/451 Great Western Highway, Faulconbridge. For details phone 4754 3515 or visit the website: www.rosatutu-dance.com.au.
