When she toured in 2018, UK's premier sax player YolanDa Brown had Aussie audiences begging for more. And now, she is heading to the Blue Mountains Music Festival.
Fitting this whirlwind visit into her increasingly demanding schedule, the double MOBO Award winner and her impressive band will perform music from her critically acclaimed, jazz chart-topping albums - 'April Showers May Flowers' and ' Love Politics War' - along with some classics, showcasing YolanDa's unique style, a delicious blend of jazz, reggae and soul which she has humorously dubbed 'Posh Reggae'.
YolanDa has toured with the The Temptations, Diana Krall, Billy Ocean and collaborated with artists such as Snarky Puppy's Bill Laurance, Rick Astley, Omar and Julian Marley.
An award-winning broadcaster as well, YolanDa is a co-presenter on BBC Radio 4's 'Loose Ends' with Clive Anderson, and presents two radio shows on British Airways. On television, she hosts 'YolanDa's Band Jam' on CBeebies, BBC's children's channel.
With limited dates on this tour, this is a rare opportunity to see YolanDa Brown and her band perform her special brand of 'sunshine music'. A real renaissance woman, set to reach new heights.
She plays at the festival on Saturday and Sunday, March 14 and 15. Tickets: bmff.org.au
