Tour de Cure, the well-known organisation with the simple mission of "finding a cure for cancer", hosted a dinner at the Carrington Hotel on Monday, March 9.
The room was full of cyclists from all walks of life who had ridden from Bathurst and were cycling to Barangaroo in Sydney the following morning to raise funds and awareness for cancer.
Tour de Cure board member and Sunrise sports presenter Mark Beretta interviewed Olympian cyclist Matt Glaetzer at the dinner. He asked about Glaetzer's cycling career, upcoming Olympics in Japan, and his past battle with cancer.
Tour de Cure generously donated $10,000 towards the work of Cancer Wellness Support, which helps clients and their carers who have been touched by the cancer journey. Through subsidized therapies, the charity provide services such as counseling, massage, reflexology and group work. The Tour de Cure funding will provide extended services to clients with in-home care services. The charity's services are primarily funded through its op-shops in Katoomba and Penrith.
