A man's body, believed to be missing Blackheath bushwalker David Bush, was found by police in bushland north of Evans Lookout on Saturday, May 30.
Due to the location, light and weather conditions, Blue Mountains Police Rescue, assisted by a police helicopter, were not able to remove the body until Sunday.
Police, RFS and SES had been searching on land and by air for Mr Bush since May 24. The experienced bushwalker had left the lookout on May 23, telling family he was going for a day walk.
Police believe the 75-year-old fell 150m from the cliff top trail to a cliff ledge, where he was spotted by a police helicopter. Blue Mountains Police Detective Inspector Scott McAlpine said there were no suspicious circumstances and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
